My first bit of public Welsh writing

I’ve just had a bit of Welsh writing go public for the first time! Cyffrous! I’m part of a Menter Iaith volunteer group that arranges Welsh language events at Clwb y Bont, Pontypridd and, after a film night that we arranged before christmas, they asked me to write a short piece about the night for their website. Took me about an hour to write three paragraphs, but I got there in the end! I told them that they could extensively edit if needed, but it’s gone up as-is, even though I refuse to believe that it’s error-free. : -)

Diolch, Jonathan! Well done and I had no problem reading it…Hedd Wynns a great film
Don’t know if you’ve heard about Cysill which I’ve used for proof reading, as a double check, numerous times?

Damo, forgot about Cysill! Just put the first paragraph through, and there were about eight mistakes there alone! Ignorance is bliss.
But cheers Kim. Glad it made sense at least! : -)

Funnily, I’d run your first paragraph myself through Cysill and found that they were all the same mistakes I always make.

Gwych, llongyfarchiadau mawr iawn i ti! :star2:

Da iawn, Jon! I got the impression from the piece that you were a Welsh speaker who hadn’t really written a lot before. You get a lot of very similar pieces from older people in this are, brought up in Welsh, but educated in English.

That is a massive achievement, and probably speaks volumes about the high standard of your spoken Welsh. Llongyfarchiadau.

Diolch yn fawr, Iestyn. Ti’n caredig iawn! : -)
