Llanelli

After two months I can finally pronounce my 'Ll’s without drooling on myself. That’s right, I no longer need a bib to practice my cymraeg.
Also, while I’m still inferring a lot more than I’m directly understanding when watching Round a Round, 'round about one third of the words are familiar to me. This is definitely my favorite foreign language yet and I have no doubt that the fact that I’m enjoying it as much as I am is thanks to your program.

Diolch, SSiW!

Where are you Dylan? I presume not Llanelli, as you say, ‘foreign language’! You are obviously a polyglot, which I am not, but many on here are! Eveyone on the Forum is very friendly and helpful! Croeso a lwc dda!

Thanks for your kind words, Dylan, and good luck with Rownd a Rownd!

I’m in Massachusetts. I’ve studied Spanish, French and a little but of German. I started Welsh at the beginning of the year.

You are showing the world that the stereotype of Americans not learning languages is wrong, wrong, wrong!

Eh… don’t shed your american stereotypes based on me. I’m hardly a normal sampling of the populace. I’m about as much of an outlier as you can find.

All stereotyping is wrong, that’s the point! I remind myself of that every day, especially when I meet really decent open-minded English people! Last week it was a locum doctor!

Even this kind of stereotyping?
