Link to old forum

I kept a link to the old forum in my favourites, in order to be able to access the very useful questions & answers for each lesson, which I use quite often. I got home yesterday from a 10 day break and found the link no longer works: it just takes me to the SSi home page.
The link for this forum took me to FAQ page but I’ve sorted that easily.

Any advice on how to access the old forum again would be very welcome.

Thanks

The same thing is happening to me too, Kime. Just a bit of re-organisation, I’m guessing. It’ll probably be back in the future as I remember Aran saying that it would be retained in read-only form.

Thanks Jon, I’ll just sit tight, then, and hope things return to normal fairly soon.

If anyone does have a working link to the old forum could they let me know? I’m looking to read some of the old discussions about Course 3 - there’s some bits in the lessons which I can’t quite make out, but I’m sure will have been covered by others over the years.

Oh yeah, sorry - it’s at http://old.saysomethingin.com/welsh/

Thanks Kinetic, that’s just what I needed.

Then it made me think… Is there any way we can make the amazing material that’s still on the old forum a bit more prominent? I’m guessing that anyone who’s just joined SSiW won’t know that every lesson has been commented on dozens of times by people who have already faced almost every problem it’s possible to face.

I’ve just been back through the Course 3 lesson 7 thread and found it terrifically helpful and interesting - not least for reading postings by some of the, now very experienced SSiWers, back in their early days

This isn’t a call for a return to the old - I’m quite happy with the new! Just wondering if it’s worth having a thread here that links to the major lesson-by-lesson threads on the old forum. (I’ll be quiet now…)

It’s a good point, Steve, and it’s on the ‘to do’ list - eventually, I think it would be good to have the relevant thread showing on the lesson page itself - we’ll definitely get something that shares a bit better than the current patchwork…
