Life after Level 2

People don’t seem to use the progress category much so I’m posting here to mark finishing Level 2. First to say that I’m so thrilled with how much I’ve learned I’ll be celebrating with a Brecon jin a thonic . The course pushed me completely outside my comfort zone (I like to see everything written down) but it absolutely worked. Even a few lessons into Level 1, I actually dared to say a few words when I was in Wales. On a practical level, I found 3 or 4 repetitions of a challenge worked best for me, with rest days in between.
Lockdown banjaxed my plans for a big scary Welsh-speaking trip to North Wales, so that’s now deferred till the autumn. In the meantime I’m going to try some reading - Lois Arnold’s Ffenestri and a parallel text of Un Nos Ola Leuad.
I watched all the episodes of Iaith ar Daith and only wished there had been more Gog learners. I was particularly inspired by Adrian Chiles’s struggles and determination. Oh, and one good thing to come out of Covid-19: I learned the first verse and chorus of Hen Wlad as my hand-washing song. Much better than Happy Birthday.

Awesome! Well done Laurie!

You’re ready for Level 3 and then Advanced Listening practices now - and more than ready to use your Welsh “in the wild” once things are back to normal
