Level 2 lesson 10 fyddet

Could anyone help me with why " what would you say… " is fyddet ti’n… not faset ti’n… i thought faswn i etc were “would” & fydda i’n etc = will be ?

For “would” there are two sets of conjugations that you can hear, depending on regional difference or speaker preference, one is the bas- stem you were expecting, and the other is bydd-, so the same as the future, but with other endings. So for “I would”, both baswn i and byddwn i can be heard. Just use the one you are more comfortable with.

Diolch yn fawr. Hadn’t realised how widely mi fydda i etc can be used. When reading I often see it when I would have expected to see mi wna i as well. I will try and listen out locally.
