Please could someone explain why gwneud changes to wneud in the sentence below:

“They want us to make sure” is “Maen nhw’n moyn i ni wneud yn siwr” (08:48)

It’s the “i” in “i ni” that’s causing the mutation - all i-clauses like this cause the verb that follows to mutate.
