I’m stuck whether it should be:

  1. Si te invitara salir
    Or…
  2. Si te invitara a salir

The written sentences on-screen use both, and I’m sure I hear both too.

si te invitara a salir but in everyday speech the ‘a’ often gets merged into the end of ‘invitara’ so you don’t hear it.

That’s quite a tendency in Spanish. Where one word ends and another begins with the same letter, you often only hear it once. It’s particularly noticeable in songs, where even different vowels get blended together at times. It used to throw me when I was first learning Spanish back in my Uni days, but I got used to it. It lets the singer get more words in! :joy:

Strictly speaking it should be written, but in casual writing it sometimes gets left out.
