Learners in Cardigan?

I’m new here and I want to practice. Does anyone go to Cardigan that would like to meet for practice?

Should be able to dig out a few. @Deborah-SSi - one for the email? @Iestyn - any names spring to mind?

Hi. This course is brilliant! I’ve been in Wales for 20 years and tried to pick up the language as I go along. I have learned more in the first seven lessons than I have ever been able to speak. It would be great if I could practice with other course users in Cardigan. I don’t know any one at the moment, but I am letting people know about SSi

Thank you so much for such lovely words, Steve! :star2:

I’m sure we can dig some extra people out in Cardigan - I’m fairly sure that at least one of the people doing dolphin trips from just down from the Grosvenor is or used to be an SSiWer…

That’s quite cool: I know the family! I will mention it next time I see them. That’s a start

Hi Steve,

I live in Llandysul and I do get to Aberteifi from time to time. There is a group of Welsh speakers and learners that gets together every Friday morning at 11 am in the Fisherman’s Rest (Gorffwysfa’r Pysgotwyr). They are very familiar with SSiW as we usually join in with them whenever we’re running a bootcamp, so I’m sure they would welcome you along.

Another useful thing would be to get yourself on the email list for Pethe Cylch Teifi - a bilingual email that lets you know of Welsh events happening in the Teifi area. There are walks that learners can join in with, and I often go to those. They are held in Welsh only - just the odd word of English for clarification occasionally - but they are opportunities to listen to Welsh then have small conversations at your level with a variety of people. To get on the mailing list, send an email through to Nic Dafis - nic@dysgu.com

But I’ll pop a note in the weekly SSiW email and see if we can find a few more SSiWers. I’m sure there will be some there!
