Just starting

Just done challenge one and started on 2 but forgetting a lot from the first one already. Maybe need to rest till tomorrow. By the way, how much does this all cost?

Hello Joycee,

I just paid $14 for Level 2 (5 sessions) and I paid around $14 for the Level 1 (if I remember correctly). I took advantage of the discounts.

That sounds good. How do I get the discounts ?

When I clicked on Level 2 I tried to click the challenges (or sessions) and the page with the prices came up. I had the option of paying one at a time or all at once. I chose the one to the right (all at once) for the discount.

Hi Joycee - don’t worry if you feel you’re not getting everything right - good long-term memory is mostly about effortful repetition (see the excellent ‘Make it Stick’ for more on this) - and you’ll get plenty of that as you carry on working through the sessions :sunny:

Price is something we’re working on - but if you missed the sign-up offer, you should be able to get the whole of Level 1 for about £50 - alternatively, if you give 10 free sessions to other people you know who are learning Spanish (see the button at the top of each page) you can get access to more material for free yourself :sunny:

Hope this helps, and don’t hesitate to ask any questions you have at any stage!

Do you have any pdfs of poster or cards for the Spanish course? I vaguely remember there being something similar for teh Welsh course. Be happy to put some up in and around Cardiff and could give some to my Spanish tutuor who’d be happy to give them out to her students. She encourages everyone to make the most of the resources that are out there but she hadn’t heard of this course ill I mentioned it to her.

Oh, thanks a lot, Dai - I don’t think we do at the moment - it’s certainly something we’ll have to try and get done - I’ll post on here when we get ourselves organised!

And thank you very much for spreading the word, hugely appreciated :star2:

Okay but I don’t think that option is available now. There is a little tab which says " Send a £100 voucher to a friend at no cost to yourself" How does that work? Would the friend have to pay anything?

The friend would get access to 10 sessions at zero cost - our base cost, if you buy lessons individually, is £10 per lesson - so your friend wouldn’t have to buy anything to access the first ten lessons :sunny:

That sounds good. I tried the first session again last night and got on reall well. I’ll see how I get on with the second session soon. I’m thinking about sending a voucher to a friend. You said it was at no cost to myself, so how does that work? Is the idea to get another person interested in the course? I actually think that £10 for each session is quite expensive, and someone else was saying they got it much cheaper than that.

Yes, exactly that… :sunny: And you get access to 5 extra sessions for free each time a friend accepts the voucher you send them :sunny:

You only pay £10 (which is similar to the full pricing for courses like Pimsleur, and cheaper/more intensive than a personal tutor!) if you buy each lesson individually. If you buy in blocks, the price is much, much lower - I think I’m right that if you bulk buy early enough, you can get the per lesson price down to about £2.50…

I’ve completed challenge 2 now and really feel like I’m getting into it. Will have a go at challenge 3 tomorrow. It’s a great idea to give someone 10 free lessons, cause I’ve got some free ones myself now. So I’ll work through those, then give some more away hopefully. Be nice to try it all out when we go back to Spain.

Well done! :sunny:

Bear in mind, you’re not meant to get 100% in a session - don’t aim for perfection - it’s better to move on quickly and come back to revisit later on if you really need to :sunny:
