I notice that in the Vocab Section of L2 Ch11 there are 2 versions of the simple question “What are you going to------?”. One with “wyt” and one without.
The “wyt” seems also to be absent from similar listeneng phrases, although my hearing isn’t of the best!
Do these omissions simply reflect more accurately colloquial speech?

‘Wyt ti’ is often shortened to just ‘ti’ in some dialects. ‘Beth’ can be shortened to ‘be’', so these all mean the same:
Beth wyt ti’n mynd i wnued?
Beth ti’n mynd i wneud?
Be’ wyt ti’n mynd i wneud?
Be’ ti’n mynd i wneud?
Usage really is localised, so it’s not that one version is more right than any other, or more colloquial – it really depends on what the people around you say. And if you’re not living in Wales, just use whichever feels most comfortable.
