A typical conversation in our house goes along the lines of:
Well?
Well what?
Well what do you think about that.
In Welsh is “well” the same well as in i slept very well?

Dwi wedi cysgu yn dda/yn iawn I slept well
Mae o’n siarad Cymraeg yn dda/yn iawn… He speaks Welsh well
Wel, Beth wyt i’n neud… Well, what are you doing?
Thanks - this is a fantastic forum .
In our house you might hear:
Felly?
Felly be’?
Which literally would translate more as So? than Well?
“Well” in that context doesn’t really have a “pure Welsh” equivalent, so we tend to use the word “wel” for it, as dinas says.
