Anyone know what’s happened to the haverfordwest meet ups at the Yeoman? I was going to start going to one of them this month but notice they are not on the list of weekly meet ups anymore in the ssiw email circular.
A Welsh speaking group (dysgwyr and siaradwyr iath cyntaf) meet every Thursday evening in the Yeoman from around 21h00-21h15 till closing. I try and go along when visiting Pembrokeshire and have always received a warm welcome from the time of my first visit a year ago as a new Bootcamp graduate. Weekly participation has varied from around 6 to up to 15 or so with occasional visits to other Welsh speaking and drinking venues (including Tafarn Sinc) around the county. Not a solely SSIW centric group but most of the learners are familiar to some degree with SSIW and it’s great to have exposure to first language speakers. I was lucky enough to be able to meet with the group again on Thursday.

Hi Mike! Great to hear that you’re keen to meet up with others and use your Welsh. There are lots of groups that meet to practise Welsh around the place, but we just list the ones in the weekly email where someone from SSiW goes along regularly and is happy to be the contact person. The SSiWer that was doing that for Haverfordwest isn’t always able to be there now so asked if those meetups could be taken off the list. It just avoids situations where groups stop meeting for whatever reason and no one notifies us so they stay on the list forever. We’re always pleased to add them back though if a new contact person should volunteer … just a thought
