Just to let everyone know we’ve had some information from Tamsin at Theatr Mwldan about what looks to be a really exciting and interesting on-line event planned for 6-7 March. Tamsin writes:
"In 2019 we partnered with the iconic Other Voices festival - which has been running in Dingle, Ireland, for 20 years - to bring a Welsh edition of the festival to Cardigan (which is where we call home).
Year one of Other Voices Cardigan was a roaring success (despite all attempts by the weather), however COVID put paid to our plans for a physical 2020 festival. We put our heads together with some of the other great festivals in Wales, and have developed a Welsh-produced and UK-wide online celebration of music, comedy and conversation: Gŵyl 2021.
It will take place on the weekend of the 6-7 March and we hope will be something to tackle the pandemic blues, bringing a bit of warmth and laughter into our homes.
Gŵyl 2021 is a partnership between Other Voices Cardigan, Festival of Voice, Focus Wales and Aberystwyth Comedy Festival. But more than that, it is a celebration of Wales, our shared diversity and our links beyond our borders.
There’s a really broad range of content and it will be available for free throughout the UK via the BBC Arts Culture In Quarantine digital platform www.bbc.co.uk/gwyl2021 (and later via S4C). Outside the UK the Other Voices Cardigan content will be available via the Other Voices platforms. Please use the hashtag #gŵyl2021"
Here are the links to the trailers for the event, which looks excellent. Something to look forward to in lockdown, hurrah!
