In the challenges, “to ask you something” is taught as: gofyn rhywbeth wrthot ti

On the automata it’s taught as: gofyn rhywbeth i ti

I mean, I understand that there are many correct ways of saying things, as in English and every other language, but I’m curious:

Is one of these more “correct” and the other more colloquial or slang? Does one sound more natural to Welsh speakers?

This has come up on the forum lots of times.

You will hear people say gofyn wrth in speech but this is a more colloquial (and less correct) form.
gofyn i is the proper form.
