P’nawn da, I friend has just asked if there’s any difference between ges i and ces i, I said I’m not too sure, I’m assuming ges i is meant to have a mi in front of it,

You are right that ges i may have lost the mi/fe particle that makes it mutate from ces i - that’s a normal thing to happen in speech, so in a positive statement, they are both the same. However, that’s not the case for questions and negatives. In questions, you’d only have ges i (e.g. “Ges i fy nhalu ddoe?” - “Did I get paid yesterday?”) and in negatives it should be ches i (e.g. “Ches i ddim fy nhalu ddoe” - “I didn’t get paid yesterday”)
