Challenge 20 of Level 2 arrived on Monday and I was a little overwhelmed by the increase in the Welsh conversation to 1 hour given that I’d barely managed the half hours. I must of been subconsciously worried because that night I had an anxiety dream: I was rescuing my daughter from some kidnappers in a van with Denis Waterman (As I suspect I’ll speak most Welsh in the pub I try to mimic the distraction and beer and so I’d had New Tricks on silent and a beer in front of me while practising earlier). Interestingly though, I was speaking to Denis in Welsh.
The one hour session went really well and I was surprised when my mentor told be that I’d done an hour. “I haven’t finished yet” I said, unfortunately in English, “Mae eisiau i fi ddweud wrthot ti am Picau ar a Maen”.
Reflecting later I realised that this was a double milestone: a long conversation and dreaming in Welsh.
