I’m trying to understand when to use 'na in an existential sentence. I’ve looked in Gareth King’s excellent Modern Welsh A Comprehensive Grammar (3rd Edition) and see, in section 256, that the use of 'na is entirely optional. So am I correct in thinking that I can use it or not use it just as I feel like?
Yes, in an existential sentence in Welsh the meaning is the same with or without the 'na, so the use (or not) comes down to personal preference.
