Some activities for our younger Welsh speakers
There are FREE Welsh at Home courses starting in September!
The courses are ideal for parents and carers who’d like to learn some Welsh to support their children. Suitable for beginners.
If these courses don’t suit you, you’re very welcome to join one of our other beginner courses. All the information is here.
Or, if you’re not a beginner but you’d like to continue with your Welsh, please click here to see all the course we offer on every level.
Maybe you’re not sure of your level, if so, we can organise a level assessment for you with one of our friendly tutors. Book your slot here.
Also, it’s possible for some to have financial support while your learning Welsh. All the information is here.
Our team are always very happy to help – you’re very welcome to contact us if you have any questions at all.

Not quite IN Caerdydd, but a close distance and a lovely place for a walk:
This one’s in Parc Bute though, so right in the centre of the city!
I am helping to organise a special event in Cardiff to celebrate Wythnos Dathlu Dysgu - following a suggestion from someone on the SSiW forum, as it happens! The BBC run tours around the main building in Cardiff, and I have persuaded them to run a special one for learners in conjunction with S4C. If it goes well, they will consider running them more often. There are two levels of tour (roughly Sylfaen and Canolradd/Uwch), and there’ll be a tutor on hand to support. I’ll be there too (unless Covid blights me again like it did at the Eisteddfod!) I would really love to meet some SSiW learners there
Would you like me to share that on Twt.Cymru too, Sara?
Done
I’m just copying the booking link for the BBC tour here as it’s a bit hard to see in the poster:
Diolch!!
I’ll have one to share soon (today, hopefully) about an event happening in Carmarthen … but I’ll have a search to see if there’s a separate Carmarthen thread (and start one, if not)
A guided tour of the Canolfan Mileniwm in Bae Caerdydd (Cardiff Bay) in Welsh - you need to book before the end of September using this link: mentercaerdydd.cymru/event/taith_dywys_canolfan_mileniwm_cymru/29
A chance for a chat in Cymraeg TOMORROW - Saturday 21 September:
Fancy a bit of standup comedy in Cymraeg?
I’m just bumping this, because I’ve heard that it’s selling fast and I don’t want SSiWers to miss out! There are more spaces on the Sylfaen/Canolradd tour than the Canolradd/Uwch one, so I would definitely encourage those more towards the beginning of their Welsh journey to book on.
And I can’t promise it will still be there, but at the moment there’s a Dr Who exhibition in the staff canteen with a Tardis and a Dalek and a load of costumes from the show…
There was also talk of dropping in to see Caryl Parry Jones in her studio before she goes on air.
