Welsh Walks once a month

The next one takes place on May 12th -

Gwreiddiau Gwyllt and Menter BGTM invite you to join our walking club on Monday, 12th May 2025, for a relaxed and sociable walk to Redbrook.

Meet at 10:15am at Monmouth Bus Station (near Home Bargains, NP25 3EG), then take a bus trip north. From there, we’ll enjoy an easy 5-mile walk to Redbrook. Please bring a picnic to enjoy in nature with the group.

The return bus is at 13:40, and we expect to be back in Monmouth by 2pm.

This is a wonderful opportunity to meet others, enjoy the outdoors, and reconnect with the local landscape in a meaningful and fun way.

Bwrlwm Blaenau Gwent comes to Bedwellty House!

Join us for a fun-filled Welsh celebration for all the family at Bedwellty House and Park on Saturday 31st May 2025, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. This FREE event offers plenty of entertainment for children, live performances, and informative stalls from local organisations.

Children can enjoy face painting, a soft play area, and performances from local primary schools and Sian from the popular group DO RE MI. Stalls will include Coleg Gwent, Mudiad Meithrin, Cymraeg i Blant, RhAG, Yr Urdd and more – a great chance to find out about local services and family support.

Everyone welcome – come and join the fun!

Bore Hapus i Siarad – Y Fenni

Byddwn yn cynnal Bore Hapus i Siarad arbennig yn Y Fenni ar Ddydd Mercher, 12 Tachwedd 2025 am 10:30yb.

Dewch i ymuno â ni am dro hamddenol o gwmpas busnesau’r dref sy’n falch o fod yn rhan o gynllun “Hapus i Siarad / Happy to Speak Welsh”, gan orffen gyda phaned a sgwrs yn Nhŷ Bwyty.

Bydd hefyd siaradwr gwadd yn yr Oriel, Stryd Frogmore, gyda chyfle i ddarganfod mwy am siopau lleol Cymraeg eu hiaith a sut y gallwch ennill cwrs preswyl ‘Dysgu Cymraeg’!

Join us for a special Happy to Speak Welsh Morning in Abergavenny on Wednesday, 12 November 2025 at 10:30am.

Take a relaxed stroll around local businesses that are proud to be part of the ‘Hapus i Siarad / Happy to Speak Welsh’ scheme, finishing with a cuppa and chat at Ty Bwyty.

There’ll also be a guest speaker at the Oriel on Frogmore Street, plus a chance to learn more about local Welsh-friendly shops and how you could win a residential ‘Learn Welsh’ weekend course!

All Welsh learners are warmly welcome – from beginners to fluent speakers.
