There are quite a few Welsh language events organised in Abertawe these days, and there’s always something happening at Tŷ Tawe, in Christina St. This thread is to post any events you become aware of, and perhaps a group of SSiWers could go along together?
Cowbois Rhos Botwnnog are going on tour to celebrate the release of their new album, “Mynd â’r Tŷ am Dro”. This will be their first tour since 2020 and will see performances of brand-new material as well as old favourites, covers and folk songs. With an expanded band and a back catalogue going back eighteen years, come and see them do what they do best.

Elis James! I loved his Nabod y Teip series on S4C.
We are delighted to welcome Gwilym Bowen Rhys to Capel y Nant, Clydach as part of our new project working in the area!
Gwilym has established himself as a worthy ambassador for Welsh language and song both at home in Wales and across the world, confirmed by his nomination for the Folk Singer of the Year Award in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and winning the Best Solo Artist Award in the Welsh Folk Awards.
Performing from Aberystwyth to Argentina, he has represented Wales and the Welsh language in enthralling performances including The British Embassy in Paris and The National Eisteddfod, and with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.
Hailing from the village of Bethel at the foot of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) in North West Wales, Gwilym has been singing in his native Welsh language since he can remember, giving him a deep connection with the traditional songs and music of his native land and a love of sharing his music with the local communities of this Welsh-speaking region.
Tickets only £5 in advance!
