Did any SSiWers submit an entry for the Dysgwr y Flwyddyn competition in this year’s National Eisteddfod in Sir Gâr?
The first-round interviews for all entrants are coming up – Saturday, 3 May 2014, at the National Botanic Gardens of Wales. If anybody has applied and wants some speaking practice or other moral support beforehand, do say so, and doubtless SSiWers will step forward to help! I participated in the 2012 competition via Skype and it was reassuring to have practiced answering the basics (Why are you learning Welsh? How? etc.). The panel were very kind, by the way.
I’m looking forward to meeting you all. I was astonished to be nominated and will be even more astonished to get through to the final four, but one of us might yet make it!
Yr unig cyngor gwerthchweil ydi: ymlacia, mwynha! [Ac efallai meddwl ychydig am sut i ateb y cwestiynau ‘Pam wyt ti’n dysgu Cymraeg?’ a ‘Beth fyddet ti’n licio gwneud efo dy Gymraeg?’…;-)]
Llongyfarchiadau mawrion mawr to the four Dysgwr y Flwyddyn semifinalists announced yesterday, who are Nigel Annett, Holly Cross, Joella Price, and Susan Carey.
That group includes at least two SSIWers – Susan (aka Waunwhiod) and Joella (who I think attends/attended the Cardiff SSIW meetings). Yes, that would be the Susan who was nervous two posts ago.
