Dysgwr y Flwyddyn 2014 / Welsh Learner of the Year 2014

Did any SSiWers submit an entry for the Dysgwr y Flwyddyn competition in this year’s National Eisteddfod in Sir Gâr?

The first-round interviews for all entrants are coming up – Saturday, 3 May 2014, at the National Botanic Gardens of Wales. If anybody has applied and wants some speaking practice or other moral support beforehand, do say so, and doubtless SSiWers will step forward to help! I participated in the 2012 competition via Skype and it was reassuring to have practiced answering the basics (Why are you learning Welsh? How? etc.). The panel were very kind, by the way.

Here’s [the thread discussing last year’s Dysgwr y Flwyddyn 2013 competition] (http://www.saysomethingin.com/welsh/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=8728&start=30#p103407) and listing likely questions. (Re-reading it made me sad again about our having lost David March.)

There’s also the thread on the old forum about Dysgwr y Flwyddyn 2014.

Nobody’s dropped any hints that we’ve picked up on. It would be lovely to hear if anyone is giving it a shot this year!

Ges i fy enwebu (ar ôl y dydd cau!) gan y canolfan addysg lleol yn Llandeilo. Bydd fy nghyfweliad 9.30, y gyntaf y dydd.

Dw i’n byw llai na 4 milltir o’r Ardd Fotaneg a dw i’n nabod rhywun arall sy’n enwebu ar SSIW ond mae hi’n cadw fe o dan ei het.

Os rhywun moyn fy helpu i dros yr wythnos nesa, byddwn i hapus iawn. Mae fy ngŵr dramor ar y munud a dw i’n gwrando ar Radio Cymru trwy’r dydd,

Wonderful, Margaret, good to hear that at least two SSIWers are giving it a go.

Pob lwc, Margaret!

Rhwng y cyfweliad a’r Eisteddfod bydd y Bootcamp mis Mehefin a fy ngwyliau yn Nhresiath nesa.

Dw i’n rhoi cynnig arni unwaith 'to eleni ar ôl i fi gael fy narbwyllo gan fy niwtor. Dw i’n edrych 'mlaen ati ond gawn ni weld sut aiff hi.

Gwych, falch iawn i glywed hynna - pob lwc i ti!

Mae Martin Coleman wedi cael ei enwebu. Martin Coleman was nominated by a tutor from Wrexham. Good luck to Martin!

Gwych, pob lwc i ti Martin!

Dw i’n edrych ymlaen cwrdd â chi pawb.

I’m looking forward to meeting you all. I was astonished to be nominated and will be even more astonished to get through to the final four, but one of us might yet make it!

Siwmae, dw i wedi cael fy enwebu a dw i’n nerfus iawn. Bydd unrhyw cyngor yn groesgar iawn!

Pob lwc, Waunwhiod!

Yr unig cyngor gwerthchweil ydi: ymlacia, mwynha! [Ac efallai meddwl ychydig am sut i ateb y cwestiynau ‘Pam wyt ti’n dysgu Cymraeg?’ a ‘Beth fyddet ti’n licio gwneud efo dy Gymraeg?’…;-)]

Waunwhiod (ac eraill), mae linc i restr cwestiynau sy’n bosib (neu debyg) yn post cyntaf y ‘thread’ 'ma.

Diolch yn fawr, ych dau Susan, (Waunwhiod)

Llongyfarchiadau mawrion mawr to the four Dysgwr y Flwyddyn semifinalists announced yesterday, who are Nigel Annett, Holly Cross, Joella Price, and Susan Carey.

That group includes at least two SSIWers – Susan (aka Waunwhiod) and Joella (who I think attends/attended the Cardiff SSIW meetings). Yes, that would be the Susan who was nervous two posts ago.

Hope everybody who took part enjoyed the day.
