Here’s something different for Dydd Gŵyl Dewi!

NOT THE MUSICAL!

The first instalment of Chwarae’r Chwedlau, The Queer Emporium Welsh-language variety show, of 2024 and on St. David’s Day, nonetheless! Unlike previous events however, the acts won’t be using queer Welsh history to inform their performances, they’ll be making history of their own and performing in Welsh for the first time! Drag, music, dance, poetry and more, all in Welsh!

Line-up:

  • Daniel Huw Bowen
  • Sir Domme Jones
  • Aiman
  • The Cardiff Dolls
  • Marmalade
  • Cardiff Trans Singers

Further Information

Alcohol will be served at this event. This is a seated event. Lights and loud sounds may feature as part of the performances.

Random Acts of Welshness

Not a particular event, but rather a St David’s Day activity that we can all take part in, wherever we live!

We’re working on the This is Wales / Cymraeg (Welsh Government channels) campaign for St David’s Day - Random Acts of Welshness. It’s a fun social media campaign celebrating our nation, our traditions, and our language.

How to Take Part

The promo film has gone live on the This is Wales (@walesdotcom) and @Cymraeg channels:

The Saith Seren in Wrexham are celebrating Dydd Gŵyl Dewi with local band Six Ton Dog on Saturday 2nd March. They play a mix of Welsh and English songs, including rocked up versions of Sospan Fach and Calon Lan.
