Hi there, are there any Dutch learners of Welsh amongst you? Would it be a nice idea to contact each other and build a Dutch Society of Welsh Speakers :partying_face:?

Ik heb de cursus zo’n twee jaar gevolgd, maar ben nu bezig met Deens. Ik wil je wel een tip geven waar ik veel aan heb gehad. Schrijf niks op! Als perfectionist viel ik in die valkuil. Gewoon blijven luisteren en herhalen is de beste weg!

Dwi’n gwneud cwrs ar lein gyda dysgu Cymraeg Caerdydd, ond dechreuais i gyda SSIW.

Hi Wim, Joanne here and I live in NL too. I’d like to find more people here too who speak or are learning Welsh - to be able to pracise together. I’m doing an online course with “Learn Welsh Wales”( Cardiff) but I started with SSIW. How about you?

Hi Vincent, heel hartelijk dank voor je reactie en jouw advies. Ik kon niet eerder antwoorden door een onvolkomenheid in mijn forum abonnement. Doe he tegenwoordig geen Welsh meer?

Prynhawn da. I am in week 40 of my first year of SSiW. Could do with some practice (raid i fi ymarfer mwy).
So am in favour if this initiative!

Hello! I’m out of practice with my Welsh (I had to put my subscription on pause for financial reasons), but I’m also a Dutch speaker and live in Amsterdam and was long hoping to find others learning Welsh here!

S’mae! Dim ond rŵan dwi’n gweld eich neges, I’ve only just seen your message now, but I wonder if you ever found Welsh speakers / learners in the Netherlands? Would love to find some! I’m living in Delft, willing to travel! :slight_smile: (Kali sydd yma, ges i fy magu yng ngogledd Cymru, yn byw yn yr Iseldiroedd ers rhyw 10 mlynedd bellach!)

Noswaith dda,

Just wondering if you’re meaning Dutch as in “from the Netherlands” or “Dutch-speaking”? I’d be willing to travel up North if the welcome is extended to Belgians and if there is a meeting in the southern part of the Netherlands, but Amsterdam (or Utrecht) would be a bit too far for me :slight_smile:

(Also, it’s not the easiest to reach from most of the Netherlands, but I have just posted a link to a concert by Cerys Hafana in Sint-Niklaas in the Welsh concerts topic - highly recommended and a rare opportunity to use Welsh “in the wild” if you dare :wink: )
