Do you/are you

Prynhawn da i chi gyd!

This question relates to a confusion with regards to saying “Do you?” and “Are you?”

In some example sentences I’m being taught “Dych chi’n” for both “Do you” and “Are you”. I’m very confused.

And also, what’s the difference between “Dych chi” and “Dych chi’n”.

They’re the same mate, you’ll get the difference from context.

The 'n or yn is dropped before words like “isio/eisiau” and “angen”. Don’t worry about it, it’ll soon be quite natural.
