Ddylwn i ddim or Ddylen i ddim (for 'I shouldn't')

Shwmae pawb! May I have some help, please? I’m at the blue/black belt stage and it’s introduced the ‘I shouldn’t’ phrase as ‘Ddylen i ddim’. I’m confused because I’ve been taught that I shouldn’t is ‘ddylwn i ddim’ - as the ddylen was for WE shouldn’t i.e. ‘Ddylen ni ddim’. Is this down to a regional variation maybe?

Thanks for your help!

Most likely. Are you doing the Southern course?
You are right, the standard (affirmative) forms are dylwn i and dylen ni, but speakers in the south often say dylen i, and usually the context makes it clear if it’s singular or plural.
And of course the same applies to the negative forms.

And for info the same applies to bydden/byddwn i, hoffen/hoffwn I and gallen/gallwn i
