I’ve used the android app from zero knowledge up to blackbelt with only minor niggles. However, about 40% through blackbelt, I’ve just started hitting what seems like a major bug.
Instead of hearing the English phrase I just hear white noise, followed by the two repetitions of Welsh.
I even stopped using the app for a month and have come back to it with the same issue.
Is this a known problem?
[Edit] I should add the app is up to date I’ve logged in and logged out again. I haven’t tried clearing the cache or uninstalling so I’ll try those shortly.
[Edit 2] I’ve now tried clearing all data, uninstalling and reinstalling. Same issue persists.
Are the sentences with the white noise related to Welsh ones containing ynoch or similar? We do know about that and the Tech Team are working to resolve it with a few more recordings needed. We understand it’s only a few sentences, so it’s annoying, but shouldn’t affect your overall learning too much while we get it fixed. Our apologies!

Yes, that sounds familiar. When “ynoch” was introduced, there were a bunch of consecutive sentences with a white noise prompt. However, there were others as well, which of course I don’t remember now. I actually planned to write them down, but forgot when I was home again, sorry.
Due to the spaced repetition, the problematic sentences tend to come up again unexpectedly. Well, you could say it’s a feature, not a bug, to make sure people don’t fall asleep
Yes, I’ve persevered with it yesterday and today after Erich said it was only for certain recordings and it is all of the one’s containing ynoch chi so far.
So now I just practice by muttering something from memory that contains ynoch chi and then trying to translate the model welsh back into English I also expect that everytime I hear white noise in the future, my brain will go ynoch chi.
