Course 3 lesson 5

Wow! that must be the biggest response I have had to any of my questions… ever!
thanx to everyone who put their fourpenny worth in to the mix. Unfortunately I learnt the grammar first, and have struggled to convert to the spoken Welsh which is what I wanted in the 1st place. Anyway thanks again I have to do some revising from Gareth King now.
Bye

I think I may have been responsible for some of the size of this response, and I’m not sure in this case quantity equals quality

The way that SSiW enables you to hit the ground running in the talking stakes is, in my experience, unparalleled! And gives you such a wonderful feeling…

I think I’ve been lucky in that I’ve not consciously thought about grammar, or the rules of the language. Though I do find threads like this educational - a little light occasionally flickers. For me it’s been the continual repetition of repeating things, hearing things, over and over; being constantly surprised when I talk to Welsh speaking people and sentences which make sense to the listener pop out…Knowing, that I can only get better as time goes on; knowing its all that neuro stuff, Aran talks about, that’s doing the hard work for me. Meaning, all my hard work was done in the first six lessons.
Hmmm! I think that’s part of what he’s talking about.
