Clwb Alawon Cymraeg is Community Music Wales’ new Traditional Music project, funded by Tŷ Cerdd’s Cronfa Tradd Fund.
Sessions will take place at Neuadd Ogwen in Bethesda, led by tutors Sarah Zyborska and Henry Horrell.
Together they’ll explore traditional Welsh-language folk songs in a relaxed, welcoming environment, and participants will be encouraged to play, sing, or both, at their own pace.
Community Music Wales will be working with Neuadd Ogwen, Menter Iaith Bangor, and Say Something in Welsh to make the sessions accessible to everyone, with our partners encouraging learners, beginners, and families to come along and give it a try.
We’re aiming that the Clwb Alawon Cymraeg sessions will break with the idea that traditional music has gatekeepers and rules that can only be enjoyed and participated in pubs by musicians of a high standard and knowledge of traditional music.
Clwb Alawon Cymraeg Wednesdays 5-8 p.m. at Neuadd Ogwen Bethesda, starting on August 5th. For further info or to sign up contact:
