Automagic not loading

Hello

I have tried the free automagic trial and liked it, so I subscibed. I logged into automagic app on my phone and it told me my session had expired and redirected me to an old coarse I had started ages ago. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it did open the automagic screen but it will not download material, just says “loading”.

I have also tried the ordinary app coarse version and there is no difficulty control and the speed is way too slow for me to tolerate. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi @owain-jones-2, there is another version of the app coming along which gives you speed control like AutoMagic, plus a myriad of other features, but for now, if you want to use AutoMagic, it sounds like a bug which was fixed a few weeks back is lurking in your cookies.

You’ll need to delete the cookies for saysomethingin.com so if you don’t know how to do that, search for “delete cookies for specific website” and follow instructions for the particular browser you’re using. That usually solves the issue.

I have cleared all the cookies on my PC as well and still have the same issue. I have cleared the cookies, opened a new tab and accepted the new cookies and loged in on the SSIW website, I then clicked on automagic link and have to login again, then it tells me my session has expired and loads the old coarse page that I started ages ago.

I’m having the same issue on my PC and phone, so maybe something going on with my account?

I’ll ask our Tech Developer if he can have a look for you.

I have installed another, different browser and accepted the fresh cookies with the same issue, it is still saying my session has expired and loads the old coarse page.

I cannot, at this stage use automagic. I also cannot use the normal app coarse because the speed is far too slow and can’t be changed. I’m feeling quite frustrated, I want to continue to learn Welsh but can’t because of this technical issues.

Help to overcome this issue will be much appreciated.

Thanks

@Kinetic - are you able to look into this?

I signed up for the automagic learning, I didn’t know it was an prototype. It was specifically the speed control that made it work for me. I’ve tried the app, which works, but is so slow I cannot use it for learning.

I’m sorry to say but I’m going to have to cancel my subscription and hopefully you can implement a speed control in a new app update.

I’ve sent you a message about the new app development. Have a look and see what you think.

Hi @owain-jones-2,

It seems as though there were two problems: the login problem (which was caused, and solved, by the cookies), and a different problem where your account had somehow become stuck on ‘skip’ mode, and your course state was inconsistent as a result, which threw AutoMagic off. I’ve set you back to normal mode now, and verified that it’s working fine when I log in as your user. Please give it another try!

It’s working now, thanks.
