Ar ôl and Cyn - and the verb that goes with them

Hello, my text book says that you don’t conjugate the verb after “Ar ôl” or “cyn”, but one of the examples in my last real life lesson was:

“ar ôl iddi hi dihunodd, cafodd hi paned” (or baned?)

Was this just a mistake? Or do you sometimes use the simple past to say “After I woke up” to show that you’re referring to a particular event, not a habit? Thank you!

I’d say so. Correct would be
Ar ôl iddi hi ddihuno, cafodd hi baned.
