Apps, PWAs, Logins, Web Sites, New Courses, etc

There are changes about and with it much confusion about how to access what. I found out yesterday that the Web Site no longer has a link to sign into one’s account. The new system for the PWA has taken over. So, I did some scouting about to find some info and links to get you where you need to go.

As mentioned, there is no way to access your account from the main web site. So (for now anyway), it can be accessed at…
SaySomethingin

Update: @Aran has provided the link to the old site below, Diolch!! I will list it here for convenience.

SaySomethingin | The natural way to learn a language

Now, here are a list of the various apps and what they do.

Automagic

This was the original app. It is now deprecated and no longer available on the app store as far as I can tell. It is still available via the web at…

SaySomethingin

This is the current app. It is available from the app stores and via the web at…
https://app.saysomethingin.com/

It uses the pre-existing accounts and your account can be managed from the store app as well as the web version.

Learn - SSi

This is the new Pervasive Web App (PWA). It is where you will find all the new freebie courses Aran has been adding. It can be found at…
https://saysomethingin.app/

As it is a PWA, there is no app store version. If you put a link on your Desktop/Homescreen, it will act just like an app.

This app does NOT recognize your old pre-existing account. You can have the app send you a token to access the content. I have not yet used this new app so, I don’t know if that access code is permanent or if you need a new one every time you login. I encourage others who have used it to give more info.

Initially, it was just the freebie courses but, very recently the paid Premium courses have been added and the ability to sign up. My understanding is, this will be a different account than your current one.

That’s a great summary, Craig, diolch yn fawr! We have been a bit heads down building, not really had a chance to think too much about summarising/simplifying navigation and app choices, so this is super helpful.

You can still access the old site - at SaySomethingin | The natural way to learn a language - we won’t be taking that down until we’ve got all the content available on the new site - we’ve also set it up so that any links to pages on the old site will redirect to /wp :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks for the link to the old site, very helpful. I tried several things but nothing worked quite right. I will update my post accordingly.
