Hi all, I live in Geneva so do not get to expose myself to Welsh very often. I am also, quite busy and like to be able to chat when I have time, sort of like a correspondence to practice listening and responding. I believe all of the language apps (tandem, hellotalk) have this as a sort of built in method of practicing, however they have become so paywalled as to be useless. If anyone would be willing to just let me send a voice note, and respond in Welsh and we can chat that would be amazing! Thanks all.

This is a great suggestion, especially for our Welsh learners and new Welsh speakers living in other parts of the world, so the time difference makes it difficult for them to join the online sessions.

Love this idea. WhatsApp voice messages are something I used all the time. Not doing Welsh these days though. However, if anyone wants to do this for Croatian or Afrikaans, please let me know.

There have been various different attempts to run language buddy setups, I don’t think any of them have ever really achieved sustained momentum - probably worth asking a bit wider on social media as well 
Did anyone ever respond to you about this Lukas? If its just a case of sending a voice note via WhatsApp every day or two I’m happy to give it a go - if so let me know and I’ll send you my number

I was messing about on the Slack channel and discovered that you can send voice messages there which might be a good way to do this if people don’t want to share their phone numbers
At the bottom of a channel / direct message, click on the " + " symbol
You’ll then get additional options including Record an Audio Clip
I’ve not tried it but I assume it’ll work. Thought it might be useful to someone

There are around 10 of us who have beein contact on WhatsApp for years. We all met on SSIW. We regularly write and record messages in Cymraeg. Its been extremely useful. We share many ideas, posts etc.

Hi Alan, would you or your group be willing to share your numbers with me? Would be a great help, I really want to start chatting more frequently! Much like SSIW I think having daily voice memos is a great way to keep up with conversational chatting skills!
