I want to have a go at listening to some of the advanced content. However, I can’t see how to access the transcript. Anyone help?

Are you accessing the content from within the Android app? As far as I am aware, the transcript (and translation/vocabulary, if available) can only be accessed directly through the website – there is a download button (or two) right next to the entries.
