Hi Folks-My son’s band is in the song for Wales contest March 1st on s4c. The song is about the first world war Welsh soldier and Eisteddfod winner-poet Hedd wyn. I would like to encourage people to vote for it if they like it. It is a great song.

Does the voter have to live in Wales? UK? Anywhere? I would suspect at least UK, possibly Wales.

I presume voting from abroad is not possible??? neither is hearing the competition I believe. I’m so sorry. I’m curious about the band and song.

Thanks for the comments regarding Song for Wales. My son’s band is usually called Clwydian Rangers and they are on YouTube. Be great to get some votes but only if you like the song of course. The story of Hedd Wyn is well worth looking up as a part of Welsh history and the old cottage where the poet lived is open to the public. I’m sure votes from abroad could occur with the right code.

Well I found the only with this name though so this must be it.
Not to confuse anyone, this is not the song you’d vote for but just random hit on YouTube from their 4 videos they have on their channel. A bit sad they don’t sing in Welsh at least not in these videos but here we go … subscribed. Now, to the work, boys! An eager music-hungry Slovene woman wants to hear more.

According to S4C, Cân i Gymru will be broadcast worldwide. They have also released this scorecard.
On a slightly different note, they’ve also requested that people on Twitter keep the trolling that has marred the event for the last few years to themselves.

Thanks so much and to everyone at say something in Welsh who voted. We are thrilled to bits. My son was the co vocalist who did the rapping and played bass. So proud.
