Tom and I are going to be kicking off our year of experiments with intensive learning this coming Tuesday…
With an intensive day of Italian.
We’re probably going to livecast the whole day, so anyone who wants to can play along, even if they haven’t got a subscription - but we won’t be making the livecast available afterwards, for obvious reasons.
If you already subscribe, then you can join in at your own pace - and we’ll do a bit of live video group stuff at the end of the day to see if we can manage to say anything to each other (or to Kai, who is an Italian speaker, if he’s available).
Our current idea is that we’re going to do one intensive day each month for Italian (fairly familiar to both of us) and Finnish (extremely unfamiliar to both of us) - and then 10 intensive days with Japanese for Japanuary, followed by two more intensive Japanese days in December - and we’ll see how the three different approaches stack up against each other.
All thoroughly unscientific, but as long as we don’t actually break our brains, it should be entertaining.
We’ll post links and stuff in here - we’re aiming to kick off at 9am Tuesday morning. We might do the Finnish on the Friday, if our heads haven’t exploded.
Wonderful news. I’m trying to learn Italian and Finnish and would like to use what I’ve learnt. Do you already know when this live video group stuff will happen ?
Are you thinking of something similar for French, too ?
Thank you for your answer.
I understand, how the live stream works.
Aran wrote something about a life video group stuff at the end of the session. I thought this would be like a chat on zoom, where people can speak ( italian or finnish) with Aran, Kai or to each other.
So my question was, if I’m right about this and when this group chat is to happen, and how one can join it.
Ok everyone! I’ve just noticed Aran’s post that I’m in charge of group sessions, so I’ll start one now ahead of the Welsh group session. Come along to test out your Italian pre-intensive and ask any questions. Message me for a link!
