Helloo…I’m a retired teacher, my hobbies include playing drums and the classical guitar, not at the same time. I live in the wild fens of Lincolnshire which is the opposite of where I used to live, Harlech, NW Wales, I loved it there in my yoof. I would regularly sneak into Harlech Castle with my pals, go down to the beach and collect shells…bullet shells, from an old firing range, help a crumbly old sheep farmer with his dry stone walling, this was all in the late 1960’s hence my nostalgic desire to learn some welsh. I’m realistic, I’ll never be a welsh speaker but I’ll continue to the end of the course as I enjoy learning and hearing the language and of course inevitably I shall/will be able to understand and speak the lingo a bit more than I can do now. I don’t stress if I can’t remember stuff I just repeat it till I do, I don’t worry about understanding the grammar, what newly born infant ever did, just pick it up as you go along.
