I moved to Anglesey from Yorkshire 32 years ago and love it. It’s a beautiful island with friendly people. I worked in Ysbyty Gwynedd for 2 years as medical secretary, then worked for a GP practice for 28 years as practice manager. Majority of patients at the practice spoke english. The GPs spoke english. Only about 4 staff were bilingual.
We were not encouraged to learn Welsh and working full time bringing up 2 small children, I was just too tired to learn. But now I am semi retired, and at home isolating from the coronvirus, I thought now is a good time to learn Welsh. So here I am ready.
