Happily retired secondary teacher (languages), married (also happily!) and living in the Derbyshire Peak District. We can see Wales from nearby hills on a clear day. Still as much in love with languages as when I was a teenager, and thought it was time to get to grips with Welsh properly after many years of paddling in the shallows. Llŷn and Eryri are favourite places, and I finally plucked up the courage to have my first brief ‘conversations’ in Welsh last May at the Bragdy Llŷn and with two delightful ladies in a Caernarfon charity shop. Just started my first SSiW Challenge and finding the ban on perfection the hardest aspect to cope with - no pause button so far though… (My brain hurts.)
