I live in the US, close to the last surviving Welsh church on the West Coast! My mother was a native Welsh speaker, and my grandfather was a keen poet in the language. Sadly my mother never taught my brother or me any Welsh, because it just wasn’t what one did in England in the mid 20th c. Glad that bilingualism is much more accepted now! I want to learn more about the language to honour my mother and grandfather, and to try to read some of the voluminous poetry, essays and correspondence that the two of them left.
