Helo, I am English (for my sins) and living in Carmarthenshire. [near Crosshands]
I am a retired nurse and have been learning Welsh since 2006, but would love to actually be able to speak it properly, as well. But, dal ati, I will keep at it!
I love Wales and all things Welsh! :wales:
“Say Something In Welsh” is the first course I have seen which seems easier to learn and, I can learn the local version too, which I hear every day! Such a shame that I am not a good Welsh speaker. Started too late I guess and I am slow.

I had also completed Cwrs Mynediad and Cwrs Canolradd, at Coleg Sir Gar Llanelli. Long before discovering SSIW. Attending several day courses at Trinity St Davids and other places. A regular visitor to Yr Atom in Carmarthen, Belonged to local Welsh learners groups and well, I am slow. I really need to speak! I have no other excuse. I even went away to Welsh boot camp. No English was allowed to be spoken for a week. Great fun!
SSIW method is great for actually getting most people speaking, I’m afraid I am the exception unfortunately. It’s me  I still frequently get the blank, rabbit in headlights syndrome!
Ah well, I understand quite a bit though, because I live in a Welsh speaking area can hear Cymraeg every day in Gorslas. Our local grannies group only has 2 women who don’t speak Welsh. Then there is me. Its wonderful to hear them all chatting away in their mother tongue.
Anyhow, I have no intention of giving up on my dream of being a Welsh speaker. I am going to try a bit of Italian too.
Don’t forget, if you get stuck, pop in to the forum where you will find some lovely
friendly folk, only too willing to help. And, some good Miwsig Gymraeg too.
