Hi, I’ve found myself at challenge 7, level 1 and doing OK but I’d really like to accelerate my learning. I’ve been looking for a Skype tutor who would be happy to work with me irregularly (by which I mean not the same time(s) every week). I’m really looking for someone about 2-3 times a week to really help me get a leg up with learning alongside the SSiW challenges and other activities I’m doing.
I’m a parent of three little beauties who are in nursery / school in Anglesey and I’m realising that I’m going to be missing out if I don’t get on with it.
I have work commitments which make it pointless trying to attend a regular class (I’ve tried).
What a noble request.
I’m not in a position to tutor anyone (except maybe in Physics) but I’d be up for a Skype chat when you feel ready for that.
I feel sure you’ll find the help you need and deserve before long.

If you’re on the island, you should be able to find someone locally who’d be able to do irregular stuff on a one-to-one basis - failing that, @mererid does a lot of Skype tutoring and we’ve heard great feedback about her…
Having said that, I’d say that if you want to accelerate as much as possible, you’d be best advised at this stage to put every spare moment you’ve got into racing through Levels 1, 2 and what we’ve published of 3, and making sure that you make the listening exercises part of your daily routine. By the time you’re at the end of Level 2, you won’t need a tutor so much as just a conversation partner, and most first language speakers can be turned into one of those with only a little bribery (coffee or beer are the best bets… ).
