Weekly Zoom Meetups in Australia

Is this still the right link for this?

The Zoom link is: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/3134295728
Meeting ID: 313 429 5728

I’ve popped your question into the #great-southern-land channel in the WSP as well. Hopefully the answer will come back to you soon.

Susan is on holiday here in Wales at the moment, so she may not see this immediately, but hopefully someone will be able to answer in the meantime.

Hello @david-154 Yes, it is correct. When I left Tasmania, our little group had swapped from children’s stories and were reading ‘Short Stories in Welsh’ by Olly Richards (which book I bought in Wales and am now slowly working my way through while waiting for buses, or having a reviving cup of tea - the 1bws ticket allows one to travel on all local buses in North Wales and is great when you don’t have a car.) A Diolch yn fawr eto i @siaronjames for meeting me in Caernarfon last week for a reviving sgwrs!

Shwmae Deborah,
Mi gen i amser i siarad efo pawb rwan. Ond fedra i ddim yn deall pryd mae pawb yn cyfarfod?
I’ve got a break from from my usual schedule, so am able to join the meeting but am not sure when it is on. Is it Tuesday? Or Mondays and Wednesdays? And is it 5pm WA time? Or 4:30?

Dw’i eisiau ymarfer siarad Cymraeg efo pobl.
Looking forward to speaking Welsh with real people.

Jo

Helo Jo,

O beth dw i’n gweld yn WSP, mae’n edrych fel mae dwy sesiwn - ar ddydd Llun a dydd Mercher, 19:00 amser QLD. Wyt ti’n aelod o WSP?

From what I see in WSP, it looks like there are two sessions - on Mondays and Wednesdays, 19:00 QLD time. Are you a member of WSP?

Dyma’r beth naeth Fiona sgwennu’n ddiweddar / this is what Fiona wrote recently:

We have two meetings a week - on Mondays and Wednesdays, both at 7pm QLD time. We’re reading a book atm. I’ve scanned the chapter we’re on, if you’d like a copy. Pm me an email address and I’ll send it through. Don’t worry if that sounds intimidating…. We all help each other out with the translations!

Os nag wyt ti’n aelod o WSP, gad i fi wybod a na i hala gwahoddiad atat ti.
If you’re not a member of WSP, let me know and I’ll send an invitation to you.

Yn WSP, chwilio am #great-southern-land
In WSP, look for #great-southern-land

Diolch Deborah,
Os gwelwch yn dda, anfon gwahoddiad ataf os dyna beth dw’i angen. Mi gen i account efo SSiW, ond dw’i ddim aelod o WSP.
Please send me an invitation if I need that to join the meeting. I have an account with SSiW but am not a member of WSP. (What does the WSP acronym stand for?)
Fy e-bost yw: **********
Os gwelwch yn dda e-bostiwch y chapter o’r llyfr chi’n darllen.
Gobeithio, medra i ymuno yn y prynhawn dydd Mercher. 4:30pm.
Edrych ymlaen at siarad,

Jo

WSP - Welsh Speaking Practice

Dw i wedi hala gwahoddiad atat ti a dileu dy gyfeiriad ebost. Mae’r fforwm yn gyhoeddus felly dim syniad da i roi manylion preifat yma. Well defnyddio Neges Preifat.

I’ve sent you an invitation and deleted your email address. The forum is public so it’s not a good idea to put private details here. Better to use a Private Message.

Bydd rhaid i ti ofyn iddyn nhw yn WSP pan ti’n mynd i mewn. Dw i ddim yn trefnu hynny.
You’ll need to ask them in WSP when you go in. I don’t organise that.

Mwynha’r siarad! Enjoy the talking!

Hi Deborah!

Is this group open to all or is there an organiser I should reach out to first? Thanks for your help.

@mikaelamaemitchell-1 it’s open to all and they love to have new people joining them, though I think they’re reading a book together at the moment rather than having conversations.

There is a new channel in WSP though called #dim-ond-cymraeg started by Andy who lives in Australia, and he’s trying to get some more conversations going online. He’s quite flexible with the timing, so it would be a good idea to get in touch with him through that channel.
