Tresaith from a different angle

Flew that way today and couldn’t resist dipping down a bit for a pic or two.

Just as lovely from the air…

And closer…

You lucky aviatrice!
I’d love to see your photos, but unfortunately I’m being asked to sign into Yahoo at the moment. Can you make them “public”, please?

Even having signed into Yahoo the photos are marked private. :-/

Apparently “Share” means something different to Flickr than to the rest of the world and the visibilty options are only finadable on he website not the app. Argh.

Should be fixed now.

Lovely pics, Leia. Can’t wait to go there on a bootcamp.

Leia, is your aircraft really held together with bits of string?

Ww, ffab…:seren:

Rob Bruce posted about 2 hours ago. “Leia, is your aircraft really held together with bits of string? ;-)”

Absolutely not.

It’s cable ties and velcro.

:stuck_out_tongue:

I sincerely hope there’s some duct tape in there too.

And that…

I’ve GOTTA get me one of those!
How old can you be to start earning a pilot’s licence?
Lovely Pics BTW
Diolch lot

oh, boot camp with optional flying lessons, the course just grows and grows.

Cheers J.P.

Thanks for sharing, leia, absolutely fantastic!

We’ve got one guy at the strip in his eighties…

Maybe I should drop into Aberporth on a Bootcsmp week and say hello! Aberporth, walk along the coast to Tresaith…

I think that Huw was asking if he’s old enough yet.

Ifan quipped: I sincerely hope there’s some duct tape in there too.

If duct tape doesn’t fix it, use more duct tape!

John mused: oh, boot camp with optional flying lessons, the course just grows and grows.

“hedfan yn yr awyr”, will this be the new “hwylio ar y môr”.

Great pictures Leia, realistically how close can you get to take pictures? Are there some sort of rules in place or something?

Yeah, there’s rules.

Not so low that you can’t glide clear if the engine coughs and dies.

Not closer than 500’ to a “person, vessel, vehicle, or structure”

That last might be changing shortly if Europe gets its way. At the moment that distance can be interpreted horizontally or diagonally as well as vertically… So I could be skimming the waves 500’ offshore… (As long as I didn’t mind nofio yn y môr if the engine gave up anyway)!

Given that round Tresaith the cliffs either side are about 300’, self preservation does come into it! I took those at about 700-800’ and with my eyes firmly fixed on that big field inland of the southern side caravan park. (The X’Air is a lovely aircraft with many fine qualities but she glides like a chucked brick…)

I fully understand the Bernouilli equation which defines the lift of an aerofoil. Do you think that’s all I’d need to be able to fly a plane?
