Total beginner starting 15th/2/2021

Hi my name is Ailéin , I’m a complete beginner. First lesson arrives on Monday 15th. Not sure what to expect or how I’ll get on, but definitely excited and looking forward to my Welsh language learning journey. Iv noticed a few others saying similar or possibly started last week or two. Maybe we could chat about our experiences here. Names, where we are from, any previous Welsh, or other languages experience. And especially how we get on methods, tips, pitfalls etc.
Like I said I have one week in total learning Welsh. Byt I started learning Gaeilge, as I’m from Ireland, at age 38, now I’m pretty fluent and teach adults. Looking forward to hearing from other Beginners.

Hi, Ailein
You’ll do great. It’ll be a fairly painless transition from Irish as the Welsh grammar constructions will make perfect sense to you and there is some shared or equivalent vocabulary.

Enjoy your journey

Diolch John, yeah if already noticed even in lesson one eclipsing, I gCorcaigh, etc. Didn’t throw me at all, actually felt natural. I’m sure it’s not the case for everyone.

Also, If you ever fancied taking a look at SSiManx, you’d walk it. Although the spelling will look strange to you.
