On the iPod, where I am now, I have my green! That may help diagnosis! I always login to forum on here!
On my lap top, I have had the need to login. I get my picture (well, my dragon picture) but still red! Yfore I’ll try the FAQ trick!
Hello!
I’m Nienor, and I’ve only been learning Welsh here for a short while, so I’m not very good… at all.
I’ve been watching the programme Wolfblood on CBBC, because there are a couple of Welsh words occasionally, and it feels so good to actually understand them! So, I decided to make a list of all the uses of Welsh in it, and put it on the wiki, as a way of using and going other new words.
However, there’s a word (or two) I don’t understand, and the subs just say ‘Speaks Welsh’, so I was wondering if anyone here could help me, and tell me what they are and what they mean.
Here’s the link on iPlayer, it’s at 7:21.

Diolch!
However, Tatyana, as I tried to indicate, I have been logged in (everywhere) all the time, and I still have red in the forum and blue everywhere else. This (and Kinetic’s message to me earlier) indicate that something more may be amiss.
@Nienor I’m not sure if it’s actually Welsh. It sounds a bit like “Croeson” to me. Perhaps his pet name for her is Croissant
Yes, @Sionned, thank you. I went though several logins and logouts in different order and combination and it gave me either selected color or default one without any order so it’s probably some mixing somewhere. The error saying my session is timed out also happened several times but when I clicked on the forum link I was logged on and going back to the site it was not neccessary to login again. I was just logged in. So … I share your opinion now. It doesn’t affect me anymore as I’m logged in and all seams to work properly but I’ll see tomorrow on another (distant) computer what happens there …
Snap, here on laptop!! Only difference is my preference is green! My bookmarked login screen has red now, but I log in and get green. I go to Forum and it’s red with no way to change it. I tried FAQ, That was green, but Forum again gave red!! My lap top was green all through in Forum, but not here!
My settings are as @tatjana showed with green ticked as colour for whole site and new format selected! Please @Kinetic is there a cure?
Welcome to the forum, Neinor!
The bit the man says at 7.21 is ‘croeso nôl’ - welcome back…
For those of you with the forum banner colour problem: I’m currently stumped; can’t find any reason why it should be doing this (and it’s working fine for me whatever I try). You’re definitely logged in to the main website at the same time and on the same browser as when you’re using the forum, right?
As I often do when I’m not sure why something’s happening, I’ve just added some temporary extra logging to the site, so I can try and catch the problem happening to @Sionned and @henddraig. Then next time either of you visit the forum, it should result in some information in the logs which I can check and hopefully get more information about the problem!
Diolch yn fawr Aran!
Although I did enjoy JohnYoung’s suggestion that he was calling her a croissant!
I have the same banner colour issue @Kinetic. I’ve checked and I definitely have the banner set to green for the whole website. Only very recently the banner on the forum changed itself to red, and I can’t make it change back. I tend to stay logged in all the time, so I’m not sure what happened.
Not working for me today. It’s way red. But no problem since forum banner is really “tiny” one.

Has anyone read this weeks Golwg? The front cover has the description of the main story ‘WAG o Fôn’, about a footballers wife, although not a story I had a lot of interest in, I struggled deciphering the meaning of ’ o Fôn’, from stem, base etc. don’t seem to make much sense to me, couldn’t anyone help me out?
Is she from Ynys Mon?
Fôn comes from Môn, which is Ynys Môn, or Anglesey. I haven’t seen the story but I imagine that’s what it is. Would that make sense?
Thanks! Yes perfect, feel quite silly now, dictionary had suggested mutation from Bon, as it doesn’t include place names, Thanks
Feel quite silly after the simplicity of the answer!
Don’t feel like that! It happens to all of us!
Uh … I didn’t even know it comes every week. I thought it’s monthly just like Lingo newydd.
Pob dydd rhywbeth newydd.
@Nienor Sorry I’m not keeping up, its taken me a while to check on this. The Wolfblood episode you showed us was filmed in my childhood “back garden”. The Welsh sounding Derwent Valley on the Northumberland/Durham border.
@aran please, I have noticed that, in the Senedd, it is common for speakers to begin with “Wel” This is true whichever language they use. I always thought of ‘wel’ as OK in Welsh, but it’s not in my handy Geiriadur. Is it OK ?
It’s certainly very common usage…
