I started this right before going on vacation -that will give me more free time than usual for about 10 days.
Any tips about how to use it effectively?
Side note: I noticed that the first time I go through a challenge, I absolutely need to use the pause button. If I don’t take a few seconds to translate the English sentence in Italian in my mind and then into Welsh, I end up remembering a lot of chunks of sounds but not their meaning!
A lot of my free time I could use to study is in situations when I cannot use pause (like driving, riding a bike, sitting in a very sunny place, doing other activities etc).
Does repeating challenges make sense in this case?
What else can I do?
Making sentences in my mind works but I tend to use only the words I remember more.
And what about adding Duolingo in short breaks when I can write but not speak out loud?
If you are driving you wont be using pause or even catching the whole thing, say when driving hazards dictate otherwise.l or when the track befomes quiet. So, in my opinion its ok to listen twice, especially if you are translating via Italian. Perhaps stop for a quick gelato befote the repeat session

Yes, I guess so. It’s just I saw so much stress about not repeating challenges (in the forum, the FAQ and the e-mails, and in the challenges too) that I was trying hard to avoid it!
By the way, the gelato will sure help achieving better results fast!
Yup, that doesn’t surprise me at all, when you’re learning through a non-native language.
I would guess that repeating previous lessons will be more beneficial for you than trying to do new stuff when you can’t use the pause button - and then keep on pressing on with new stuff when you can pause…
