The Cheshire Celts

I’m from Warrington, and I recently stumbled across this page from a blog on the English dialect spoken here. Interestingly, there’s a Welsh connection with the town which might be of interest to people.

The only reason Warrington exists is because - until relatively recently - it was the nearest to the Irish Sea that you could cross without a boat. Initially by ford, then by bridge.

That would have made it a crossing point for the Celts.
