I got a letter (an actual printed letter … remember those? 
) inviting me to something called Streelife ( www.streetlife.com ).
It seems to be essentially a sort of Facebook, but aimed at the local community.
Instead of having “friends” etc, you can see and take part in “conversations” started by people in your local area (determined by postcode I suppose).
It seems to be quite a good idea. You can use it to e.g. recommend or ask for recommendations for tradesmen, advertise events, clubs & groups, etc, find friends, or whatever.
I thought it might be a good way to find out if there are any other Welsh learners / Welsh speakers living near me, so I have just put a posting up to that effect. I have also mentioned our existing Meetup group in Oxford (which reminded me that we still need a new venue! - see other posting).
I wondered if other people might find this a useful way of finding other Welsh learners / speakers near them (and it would have other uses as well). I’m sure you don’t actually need an “invitation”. Just go to the site and sign up.
