Shwmae, how do I find a group to practice speaking with please?
Helo @cj-5! If you log into the SSiW Community Chat Slack group, you’ll find the timetable for the online partner and group chat sessions. Your membership is still active, so you just need to go to ssiw66.slack.com if you can’t remember how to get in.
If you’re looking for an actual physical group that meets near you, check the list in Post-Pandemic Meetups to see if there is anything there.
Thank you so much for this. I have managed to log in and hope to join a session soon. Diolch.
Is there any chance SSiW could start a new list of local conversation groups? I’ve checked the Post-Pandemic Meetups thread, and notice that the two nearest to me (which are not suitable because they clash with my Dysgu Cymraeg course) are Kidwelly and Llanelli, but they haven’t been updated for 2-3 years, and Carmarthen (which I could also get to) has nothing at all listed. I’m wondering whether there may be groups that aren’t on that list, and/or whether some of the groups that are listed might have changed day/venue by now.
The list relies on the organisers, or people that attend regularly, letting us know about changes. Some groups are very reliable and always post details of their next events and any changes of day/time/venue; however, they’re not all like that.
Some prefer to use Facebook, or set up their own emailing lists, and we don’t know about those.
We can only post the information we receive, so if anyone knows of other groups or has information about changes, we will gladly receive it and update the list.
Another source for finding local groups is the nearest Menter Iaith organisation. There is one for each county in Cymru, plus Menter Iaith Lloegr.
Every list on line needs double check cause, like Deborah said, they all depend on the organizers to send updates.
But you may have a look a this list and see if there is something that might work for you:

Sorry looks like I can’t post a working link from my phone, I’ll edit it whan I’m home on the computer!
