Skipped two weeks

Due to various reasons (a film shoot I was working on, plus a minor surgery), I’ve missed out on about two weeks of practicing/doing challenges, whereas once I was doing several a day. I’ve completed the first 2 levels but upon starting the next challenge I realized I’d forgotten a significant amount. I’m worried that I’ve somehow ruined my progress and may have to start all over again, though I do still remember a fair amount. I guess I’m wondering how to best get back on track after this break - should I keep going with level 3 and hope it comes back to me, or go back and review previous challenges first?

I’d say keep going with level 3 - most of the earlier material will show up there in some form or other eventually

From my experience the best way is always try and keep going, first.
If you feel lost, don’t worry or panic! you can always go back and do the last 4-5 challenges of Level 2 and then proceed with Level 3.

I found 'level 3 quite tough at first, right after Level 2. So I took a break, never repeated older challenges, just let it sink somehow, listening to songs and watching a bit if tv (I mean, in Welsh!). And when I tried again it went much better.

However this is what worked for me, I know other people did great in different ways so always worth experimenting a bit!

If you feel you need a quick recap before you push on, just have a run through Challenge 25 of Level 1 and Challenge 25 of Level 2, and that should refresh everything. It will still be there in your long term memory. You just need to jumpstart the retrieval process

That’s the nature of learning - our ability to recall is always moving up and down in a kind of waveform - the mistake is to think that ‘forgetting’ means it’s entirely gone and you need to start again from the beginning - you don’t… Just keep on pushing on (using the last challenge of Level 2 as Dee suggests if you want some extra work) and each item will come back via the spaced repetition, and you’ll get back up to speed…

I just redid level 1 challenge 25 - I feel like I remembered a lot I thought I’d forgotten, but also made a fair amount of mistakes/couldn’t remember the answer quite a few times

That’s absolutely normal - if you went through 25 without lots of mistakes, it would be a sign that you needed to be pushing yourself harder…
